Storm's Tropical Heat series is turning up the heat this summer!

by NV 16. April 2010 11:04

Storm is turning up the “HEAT” with the introduction of the new Tropical Heat series.

This new line of bowling balls raises the standard in performance at a value price.  The power behind the Tropical Heat is the highly successful Turbine™ core from previous Hot™ line balls like the Fast™ and Furious™.  This mid-RG and mid-differential core boasts a tighter spin radius for quick revving mid-lane and enhanced entry angle to the pocket.

Reactor™ series coverstock adds the perfect complement to the Tropical Heat.  This performance proven coverstock continues to be a staple in the Storm line by delivering the ideal blend of friction and power.

VISE Interchangeable Thumb - Do you have IT?

by NV 9. April 2010 05:28

I have upgraded all of my bowling balls with the new VISE Interchangeable Thumbs - "IT". I start with my regular thumb pitch IT that I use in every ball, when I want to change the ball motion either eariler or later down the lane, I select from 3 different "IT's". These "IT's" all have a slight thumb pitch change, which changes my ball tilt enough to change the ball motion when trying to keep up with lane transitions, playing on sport and/or pba lane patterns.

Its like the new drivers in golf, where you can adjust the loft and lie angle of the driver to give you a different ball flight - high or low, fade or draw, etc. For more information about the VISE Interchangeable Thumb - "IT", visit viseinserts.com/

MOTIV SR2 on PBAX Scorpion Lane Pattern

by NV 12. March 2010 07:52

We bowled on the PBAX Scorpion pattern this week. I used the Motiv SR2 box finish, with a 3" pin, drilled pin above bridge of fingers and the CG at 45 degrees, XH in my PAP. I started out playing 20 to 10 at 40', as the lanes transisitioned I followed the oil line by moving left keeping the same break point at 40'. By the 4th game I was playing 5th arrow out to 10 at 40'.

The SR2 is very smooth through the heads, reads the mid lane consistently and made a nice even move to the pocket out of the pattern. Carry was good early, had to watch the speed, once the lanes transistioned the SR2 was very predictable and carry % increased as well, keeping the pins low on the pin deck. The SR2 would be a good THS ball to have in the bag to open up the shot in the 2nd and 3rd games.

Check back in a few weeks for an update on Motiv balls on the Dick Weber lane pattern. For more information and/or pricing on Motiv equipment, visit bowlerswherehouse.com

MOTIV QZ1 Purple Review

by NV 16. February 2010 05:21

As I discussed recently, I have a QZ1 Red Pearl drilled for short patterns like Cheetah and Viper. I drilled up a QZ1 Purple with a low pin under the bridge with the cg kicked out 45 degrees and a XH on the VAL in the middle of grip. This layout will match up to my TR2 which is a lot stronger ball, but I wanted to match up the QZ1 Purple layout with the TR2, so I can simply change cover stock and weight block when the lanes start to change. I want a similar ball read just a little later down the lane, as the TR2 is much earlier and stronger.

The QZ1 Purple, is very clean thru the fronts just like the QZ1 Red Pearl, but has an earlier reaction in the mid lane and very smooth. On the backend, the QZ1 Purple has a very strong roll and continuation through the pins. I use the QZ1 Purple on the Chameleon PBAX pattern, I'm sure on a house shot this would be a ball to have in the bag. I have recommended to people looking for a two ball arsenal, to go with the QZ1 Red Pearl and Purple, both with the same pin placement and layouts, and let the cover stock dictate which ball to use.

MOTIV SR2 Overview

by NV 9. February 2010 04:06

I drilled up the new MOTIV SR2 as part of my arsenal. I've decided to keep all of my layouts similar, allowing for the coverstock and weight block to make the difference in ball reaction. I drilled the SR2 pin up middle of bridge and cg 45 degrees, with an XH on my pap. My TX1 has the same layout, its long with a strong move on the backend. The SR2 with this layout gives me a similar look, with an earlier read in the mids. This ball punishes the pins and offers really good carry on light hits, my only league is on PBAX, so I know on house shots, this ball would be awesome to have in the bag. On PBAX patterns, the SR2 is very predictable and works good on 39' and longer parterns. Shorter patterns liks Cheetah and Viper, the QZ1 Red Pearl is perfect. Brunswick releases the Evil Siege

by NV 1. February 2010 14:30

Propel Pearl Coverstock
Propel Pearl is an evolutionary coverstock developed by Brunswick to improve the mid-lane and backend traction of the ball on today's slicker oils and lane surfaces. The Propel Pearl coverstock was discovered through testing of new formulation additives and process changes in coverstock manufacturing.

MACE Core
Mechanical Asymmetric Core Engineering. The MACE core has three major benefits: ultra-low RG core system to engage the Propel Pearl coverstock, high RG differential to aid in traction through heavy oil and high RG asymmetric differential to quicken the response time to friction. Designed as a two-component elliptical core system, the MACE core is dynamically the strongest asymmetric core ever produced for a Brunswick ball.

Ball Motion
The Evil Siege unites the Propel Pearl coverstock and the proven MACE core to produce a ball motion that is strong in the mid-land and aggressive on the backend. The Evil Siege is the ball when your game needs help battling medium to oily conditions and poor pin action.

MOTIV QZ1

by NV 31. January 2010 09:16
MOTIV QZ1 available in a red pearl and purple pearl. I have drilled the QZ1 red with a tall pin for short cheetah and viper patterns. The red pearl clears the heads and reads the mids with a nice controlled backend move. I'm going to drill up a purple pearl with a low pin for mid length patterns. I'll report on this ball soon. Check out the special price on the QZ1 purple for a limited time. Visit bowlerswherehouse.com for more information.
